I first listened to the Beatles debut album "Please Please Me" in Godfrey's room with some other boys.

I am Barry Clarke and lft Harlow Collage in 1952. I have tried to get in touch before. Please add my name to Old Boys. I was in Keyes House and if memory is correct was House Captain for my last year. I now live in the USA and therefor unable to attend reunions. I will send more when added.

Don't forget Pip Allen the science teacher. I met Godfrey Harvey in Slough High Street some many years ago whilst out with Dickie Pope. GH was teaching at a prep school called Long Close in Slough.

Yes, I remember you...(older than me) and if I recall correctly, your contemporaries would be Head Boy Haseler (sp) and Ross(?)...ginger haired guy with a hairpiece, I believe, and an excellent miler. I think you were a prefect, but I remember you and can pick you out of the Nelson House picture. Could have been another Norris, I guess.

He must have died that year then (1968) as I recall receiving the letter from GH before I was married and I was still living at home with my parents.

Not that it matters greatly.

In about 1962 he was ousted from teaching maths by said Godfrey Harvey. He then taught hisotry and lit the flame of interest in that subject which has stayed with me. He went on to teach at my cousin's school in Harlow Fedsten Hall.Sis Purgavie die in 67/istr speaking iwth him in 68

You could well be right about Padfield being the one with the grenade...time plays strange tricks on the old memory.
Interestingly, Isaac had been a friend of mine in West Africa when we were about 6 years old. At the beginning of my second year at Harlow, as we were watching the new boys arriving, here comes new boy Roger Isaac. I remember asking my parents if there was some collusion there but apparently not.
Here's another good one: When I met Anthony Knight we were drawn to each other in a sense because both our parents lived abroad (and he had introduced me to the Biggles books.) His father lived in Hongkong, and I remember telling him that was where my father was being posted next and he din't believe me. I think that he thought that I was just currying favour with him. Anyway, I leave Harlow and we go to live in Hongkong where coincidentally I run into Knight in some shop in the backstreets of Kowloon, probably spending the summer hols with his dad... he was finally convinced!

Tony's death is a sad loss to the O H Club. I knew him as a junior when I was at Harlow, (and I was always trying to trap him into somehow introducing me to his elder sister). We were Day boys, travelling (mostly) by bus from and back to Bishops Stortford, and on good terms, despite the 'seniority' difference. Later, while based in London, I lunched with him occasionally at Lloyds Bank HQ in London. Always good humoured and cheerful, he will be missed by many.

I remember Roger he became an architect did a church in new Harlow. Knight had a steel case which he said his dad had given him because dad was a pilot for B O A C and K
Knight had to travel a lot to see his dad. I also remember the hand grenade though I thought it was Padfied.

Regarding contact by e-mail; I ind it very easy. I think that all with e-mail facilities can benefit from its use, BUT they do need to check it reasonably often! In my travails connected with accommodation for the OH Dinner, I have sent fruitless e-mails to various members and never had a reply - the culprits know who they are!
If you are not going to use your e-mail, PLEASE do not list the address. Regarding reservations at The Green Man, I have encountered too many problems with those who do not respond, and then, at the last minute expect me to arrange their reservation. It will not happen. I came near to having to pay for rooms that some members said they wanted and then did not take them up. So, those of you who actually read this, let me know if your e-mail will be used, or, alternatively, make it clear that you have no e-manners. I will continue to negotiate with the Green Man each year, for reasons stated elsewhere, and I will appreciate requests for reservations before the end of April each year. Now that we have the Dinner in June, it should be simple to plan in advance, with cooperation.

May I suggest you contact Hugh Jones when he gets back from his travels in a couple of weeks - he will at least store everything for you until we can raise Chris.

Maybe, BUT you cannot walk there from the Dinner (unless you ar deranged). There is also the problem of getting there, changing and then getting to Old Harlow.... donr drone, etc. However, if those gentlemen who buggered me and the Green Man about reservations a couple of years ago wish to switch, please let me know your names so I need not telephone or e-mail you in the run-up period. I have better thiongs to do than watch tc footie.

several year and house photo's plus a quantity of personal snaps together with a letter of explanation.
Having heard nothing I then emailed the Webmaster, still
nothing, then an email to the Hon. Sec. nothing.

Can I commend to everybody for next year the Railway Hotel at Sawbridgeworth. It's cheaper, friendlier and more comfortable that the Green Man. The breakfast is immeasurably better!Open all hours.

WHO was at MY 70th? Everybody of real note!. Actually, my daughters bought me an hour in a Tiger Moth, the type for my first solo; when I reached Cambridge Flying Group, the CFI, aged 84, was an old friend and let me do handling rather than sightseeing.
Anyway, I digress. Of COURSE, I was at the reunion - and should be at all future ones until I snuff it or everybody else does, now that they are not in the middle of summer hols (Except, that is, for the un-named person who 'could only make it in June' but was not at either of the two last June reunions! He will be able to turn up in June when he is the only one left. I rest my case).
Question: Who has attended the MOST OH reunions since they began in earnest? (ie; like 1953)

Last year it was the opening England game of the world cup. This year it will be the FA cup final. Last year I recall a large bottle of whisky being consumed post reunion, (mainly by Mr Alexander), whatever will happen this year, without me to chaperone you?
