Roger Isaac is working in London. He is involved in a capital venture company. I will email you privately a link to his site. I remember Anthony Knight, good runner and sportsman as I recall.

As I recall there were a couple of filled in air raid shelters at the school, and one day some of the boys decided to do a little excavating in the one that was near the Dinky toy racetrack. (that was great, the racetrack, anyone remember it?) Anyway, quite a few items were found including a machine gunners handbook and a live grenade... which ended up in the hands of a guy called Minnehan who was running around the upper field using it to practice his bowling form...thank god he didn't let it go!

I remember Roger he became an architect did a church in new Harlow. Knight had a steel case which he said his dad had given him because dad was a pilot for B O A C and K
Knight had to travel a lot to see his dad. I also remember the hand grenade though I thought it was Padfied.-

You could well be right about Padfield being the one with the grenade...time plays strange tricks on the old memory.
Interestingly, Isaac had been a friend of mine in West Africa when we were about 6 years old. At the beginning of my second year at Harlow, as we were watching the new boys arriving, here comes new boy Roger Isaac. I remember asking my parents if there was some collusion there but apparently not.
Here's another good one: When I met Anthony Knight we were drawn to each other in a sense because both our parents lived abroad (and he had introduced me to the Biggles books.) His father lived in Hongkong, and I remember telling him that was where my father was being posted next and he din't believe me. I think that he thought that I was just currying favour with him. Anyway, I leave Harlow and we go to live in Hongkong where coincidentally I run into Knight in some shop in the backstreets of Kowloon, probably spending the summer hols with his dad... he was finally convinced!

Thanks for this Hughie!.... not sure what happened to Inskip. After leaving Harlow my folks moved to Hongkong where I happened to run into Anthony Knight, (anyone remember him?) How about Roger Isaac... anyone know of his whereabouts?
I was sorry to hear that the old school had been torn down... was that the official end of ballragging? (I was never sure whether that was a pastime peculiar to Harlow or just a peculiar English boarding school pastime!
I'll post a couple of recent pictures as soon as I get the hang of posting them on this site...
